Lightbulb.png  For richer or for poorer: words about money

Smart planner that you are, you wait until your mom or dad is in a good mood before you spring on him/her that that you need some new clothes for going back to school. He/she looks you in the eye and informs you he/she is impecunious.

Should you grab the keys and get ready to hit the mall, knowing you're about to get dear old dad or mom's credit card, or should you skulk back to your closet and dig into the subterraneous depths, hoping to find something you can wear?

When you master the words in this vocabulary skills, you know that it's the closet, not the mall, for you.

Impecunious means poor, penniless. Your mom or dad is telling you he/she is is broke, and you're on your own....
